Dion
Fabricator
Working as a fabricator in the fabrication shop, Dion plays a hands-on role in bringing Metal Staircase Co projects to life. Before joining MSC, he built his experience welding and fabricating cages and stillages, developing a strong foundation in precision steelwork.
Fabricator
The most satisfying part of the job comes at the finishing stage - linishing. Sanding and smoothing welds towards the end of a project is where everything comes together, and that final clean finish is what makes the work especially rewarding. Patience, attention to detail, and pride in craftsmanship are at the core of how he works.
When not in the workshop, he enjoys keeping up with sports and spending time training in MMA at the gym. He recently won his last fight at Fenton Manor and enjoys the challenge, discipline, and buzz that comes with training and competing.

When he’s not busy supervising the workshop, Otto keeps spirits high and tails wagging around the office. Expert in sneak attacks for treats and professional croissant impressionist. His daily duties include morale boosting, occasional cat surveillance, and making sure everyone is having a good day.
Chief Happiness Officer
Otto has an uncanny ability to turn any tough day around with his puppy eyes. He’s also great at reminding the team when it’s time for a break (usually involving walks or belly rubs). No meeting is complete without his insightful head nudges and motivational snoozes.
Zooming around, chasing cats (even if he mostly just watches), and mastering the art of the croissant curl. He’s a dedicated napper and loves tagging along on family adventures - especially when snacks are involved.

Neil
Operations Manager
Neil brings over 25 years of experience as a draughtsman in steelwork manufacturing, working on everything from structural and architectural steel to mechanical projects. At MSC, he’s the guy who keeps things running smoothly - handling project modelling, fabrication drawings, ordering materials, and making sure the fabrication shop hits its deadlines with precision.
Operations Manager
Neil’s biggest strength is his knack for problem-solving. He loves taking on tricky challenges and turning them into practical, buildable solutions. There’s nothing quite like seeing his designs come to life during test builds and final fabrication, and that hands-on approach makes him a key player at MSC.
Outside of work, Neil’s passion lies with classic and American cars - especially the unusual and quirky ones. He’s not interested in driving anything “normal.” When he’s not at car shows or working on restoring classics, you’ll find him creating industrial-style steel furniture in his personal workshop, putting his creativity and craftsmanship to good use

Matt joined us fresh from University, impressing us straight away with his genuine passion for good design. Since coming on board in 2025, he’s quickly become a valued member of the team and thrives on the variety and complexity each project brings.
Day to day, he creates detailed 3D models and produces visuals to help clients picture the finished staircase, and builds test assemblies to make sure every fabrication detail is spot on before it reaches the workshop floor.

What Matt enjoys most is creative problem-solving, especially when it comes to designing tricky features like hidden fixings, clean lines, and embedded stringers. He’s great at balancing a strong design vision with practical engineering, making sure every staircase looks stunning and is built to last. There’s nothing better for him than seeing a finished staircase come together exactly as he imagined.
When he’s not designing staircases, Matt’s all about fast cars and adrenaline. He loves car meets, track days, and keeping up with the latest in sports car design. Antique Brass
Our antique brass fittings have a rich, warm tone with subtle variations that give each piece a naturally aged look. The deep golden-brown finish adds character and works just as well in traditional settings as it does in contemporary staircases, bringing a sense of warmth and longevity to every detail.

Brass
Our brass fittings showcase rich, golden tones that bring a warm, inviting glow to any staircase. Over time, their natural finish develops a subtle patina, adding depth and unique character to each piece. This evolving colour enhances the tactile knurled texture, making every fitting a distinctive and beautiful feature.

Benefits of timber
Timber brings natural warmth and texture to any staircase design. Whether used for treads, handrails, or feature elements, it adds a tactile, organic quality that softens and complements metal or glass components. With a variety of hardwoods and finishes available, timber is highly adaptable - equally suited to traditional spaces and contemporary interiors.
Natural Aesthetic - Timber offers warmth, grain variation, and a timeless look that adds depth to any design.
Custom Finishes - From oiled European oak to stained ash or walnut, timber can be tailored to suit your material palette.
Comfort Underfoot - Timber treads provide a softer, quieter walking surface compared to metal.
Sustainable Sourcing - We work with responsibly sourced hardwoods, supporting ethical forestry and sustainable design. Wherever possible, we also repurpose our off-cuts, whether it's for smaller components, detailing, or for other products. Ensuring that no material goes to waste.
