■ Introduction

Our Carbon style featuring two large exposed PFC stringers which are synonymous with industrial construction. Forming such a profound, solid structure which resonates the working heritage of this old farm building. The slimline spindle balustrade compliments this bold structure with delicate detailing and no large supporting posts. A design which put great emphasis on the craft of fabrication and suitably pays tribute to the history of this farm.

■ The Challenge

Creating a seamless connection between the slimline balustrade and the exposed steel structure required careful planning, with all fixings hidden to maintain a clean, uninterrupted appearance. The system also needed to remain precise and structurally robust across the staircase and its 10-meter landing.

■ The Solution

A bespoke countersunk nut system concealed all fixings, allowing the balustrade to flow seamlessly along the staircase and landing. Each element was carefully aligned and assembled, producing an industrial-inspired staircase that combines structural strength with refined detailing, perfectly complementing the barn’s character.
